Your Unique Rhythm
Wild Grace Wellness is about the dual or many parts of ourselves and the harmony, both within ourselves and with the world around us. And a big part of that harmony comes from learning to truly be where we are. In our fast-paced world, it’s so easy to constantly look ahead, to plan the next step, the next achievement, the next season. While foresight has its place, and a general sense of where we’re headed is comforting, it can sometimes steal the thunder from the beautiful story of now. The unique rhythm, gifts, and purpose of each season.
Your Unique Rhythm
Just like the seasons, our lives have their own unique pace. There are times for sowing, times for growing, times for harvesting, and times for rest. It’s crucial to honor your own internal rhythm and the season you’re in. Are you in a period of intense creation and outward activity, “the grind,” or a time for more introspection, nourishment and replenishment? There's no right or wrong answer, only what is authentic for you right now.
When we try to force a different pace, or wish away our current circumstances in favor of a perceived "better" future, we create resistance. And resistance, as we know, often leads to struggle. Instead, imagine what it would feel like to lean into the current of your life, to trust that you are exactly where you need to be, and to find the inherent beauty and wisdom in this very moment.
The Practice
It’s a practice and an art, really, to not let the anticipation of what’s next overshadow the richness of your current experience. When we’re constantly looking ahead, we miss the magic of the in-between. We miss the subtle shifts, the quiet joys, the profound lessons that are only available to us in the present moment. Worrying about the future, while a natural human tendency, can become a heavy burden that prevents us from fully enjoying the journey we’re on right now. It saps our energy, clouds our perspective, and can even create a sense of anxiety about things that aren’t even true.
Wild Grace Wellness is built on cultivating presence and starting with awareness. Just acknowledging what’s present is a cornerstone of true well-being. It’s about creating space within yourself to observe, to feel, and to simply be without judgment.
Here’s a roundup of some practices and rituals I’m embracing to feel and enjoy summer’s end.
1. Evening Walks
“Summer's end" walks, if you will. The goal isn't exercise, but presence and connecting with these nights we wont get back for awhile. Notice the small details that mark the season, wherever you are!
2. Sunset Gratitude
Find a spot to enjoy the sunset without distractions, connect with the daily cycle, pause in gratitude for your day.
3. "Season's End" Playlist
I LOVE THIS ACTIVITY! It’s like a music journal. Were there some songs present on your summer adventures, or ones that bring you to the feeling of summer or capture a memory?
The best part? Listening to it years later. Here’s mine so far!
4. Meditation for the pace and place in life - class for wild grace online members!
5. Peppermint or Chamomile Intention Tea Ceremony
Both of these natural teas are cooling, cleansing, healing and balancing in the summer season (known as Pitta season in Ayurveda). Pitta energy can manifest as inflammation, anger, heartburn, or sharp, fiery emotions, and Ayurveda teaches us to work with nature to balance this energy. The pungent taste also helps to stimulate digestion (agni), but without the excessive heat that other pungent herbs might create.
6. 44 min. Power Yoga Class - Intuition - class for wild grace online members!
7. Reflect, release, reset - journal prompts
What are you ready to let go of, what are you ready to receive?
What do you want to continue on or carry with you?
What is something you’re proud of from the past few months?
What is one thing you can do to create a sense of calm or stability as the season shifts?
Whether it's through quiet reflection, physical movement, nature, or creative expression, these are some great ways to embrace both the story of now, and transition peacefully into what is next!
